Know Your Coupons ("KYCs", "we", "us") is built by AddVector. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use knowyourcoupons.com and the KYCs Android app (together, the "Service"), why we collect it, and how you can control it.
Account information — your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, date of birth and country. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's name, email and profile photo. Your password is never stored in plain text — only a one-way cryptographic hash.
Your coupon vault — the coupons you add manually, the content of coupon emails you forward to us, messages from your Gmail Promotions tab if you've connected Gmail (see Section 4), and any screenshots, PDFs or text you upload or paste. This is the core content of the Service and is only visible to you.
Usage and device information — sign-in history (device/browser, approximate location from IP address, timestamps), which you can review and revoke yourself under Profile > Security > Sessions & Devices. If you generate a developer API key, we store it as a one-way hash, the same way we store passwords.
Support communications — anything you send us through a support ticket or by email.
When you forward a coupon email to hello@knowyourcoupons.com from the address registered on your account, we match it to your account by the sender address and process the email body and any attachments (images, PDFs) to extract coupon details. Please only forward emails you have the right to share, and avoid forwarding threads that contain other people's personal information beyond what's needed for the coupon itself.
If you connect your Gmail account (available on the Ultimate plan, under Integrations), we request read-only access to Gmail via Google's own permission system. We only ever look at messages Gmail has already filed under your Promotions tab — we never access Primary, Updates, Social, or any other category, and never search your inbox for anything else. For a Promotions-tab message, we read its subject and body text (not attachments) and run it through the same extraction described in Section 2; if no coupon is found, nothing is saved and nothing else is kept. When a coupon is found, the extracted text (up to 5,000 characters) is stored with it, the same way pasted text or a forwarded email's content already is. We send one summary email a day listing whatever was found that day — never a reply per message. You can disconnect Gmail at any time from Integrations, which also revokes our access token with Google; we don't retain access beyond what's needed to keep scanning while connected.
We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in. It's marked HTTP-only and, in production, Secure. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the Service work — for example, cloud hosting, AI-assisted extraction, and outbound email delivery — under obligations to protect it, and only to the extent needed to provide the Service. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Passwords and API keys are stored as one-way hashes, never in plain text. Gmail access tokens are stored encrypted, never in plain text. All traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
We keep your account and vault data for as long as your account is active. From Profile > Security, "Delete Account" permanently and immediately deletes your account and everything in it — every coupon, uploaded file, session and preference — with no grace period. See our Delete Your Account page for the exact steps, including what to do if you can't sign in.
You can access and correct most of your information directly from your Profile settings, and delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile > Security. To request a copy of your data, email hello@knowyourcoupons.com.
The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
